Riga: A birthday trip I never will forget
Crille and I have a tradition, and that is that we want to spoil each other like crazy on the other ones birthday. Non of us is that fond of giving stuff. Both of us are minimalists and feel that stuff is just that, stuff. So we try to give each other some adventure instead, and Christian decided this year to step up his game. Like on a crazy level, how-will-I-ever-be-able-to-top-this-level.
I woke up from Crille tossing and turning in the bed, when I looked up I met two very excited eyes. I got a bit shocked, plus I was still sleepy. The clock wasn't even 7, and for Crille to be up at that time, voluntary, I found that very odd. And I can add to the story that it wasn't even my birthday, it was the day before. He handed me a square present. My eyesight hadn't quite catched up with me yet, but I got it open really fast anyway.
It was a book about Riga. It took my quite some time to get that he wasn't joking. We were flying to Riga that same day. Ahhh! I loved it! So, I got to celebrate my birthday in Riga. All planned by Crille. Where we were going to eat and everything. We ate at two really amazing restaurants, like the best food I ever eaten. So good. He even surprised me with a huge bouquet at the hotel room. It was magical.
And Riga, what a beautiful city, especially old town. Just wow. I hope I can go back there in the future, as a wedding photographer maybe ;-)
This is only funny for a Swede, bärs in swedish means beer.
